We know that South Florida is getting hotter, and for outdoor workers, the heat isn’t just uncomfortable—it can be dangerous. From landscapers to construction crews, many small businesses in Miami-Dade rely on hardworking teams who spend long hours under the sun.
To help protect those workers, the Extreme Heat Small Business Support Grant offers financial support to businesses committed to improving heat safety on the job. Grant funds can be used for practical items like water coolers, pop-up shade tents, cooling gear, and other tools that help keep teams safe, healthy, and productive.
This grant was made possible by the Miami-Dade County Office of Environmental Risk and Resilience in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Commissioner Bastien and The Miami Foundation.
This form should be used to submit payment requests to The Miami Foundation. Requests, including supporting documentation, must be received by Friday at 5:00 pm EST for payment within 2 weeks.
The Foundation is issuing all payments by ACH Electronic Funds Transfer. We are requesting that you provide your ACH information using this secure form. While we will still allow payment via check, we will be transitioning away from payment via check soon.
